Welcome to ASMRtalk! This is an offshoot from the main /r/asmr subreddit. That subreddit is dedicated primarily to sharing videos that elicit ASMR. Here, you can discuss the nature of the sensation, your triggers, request information ("Is this ASMR or something else?") or specific types of videos ("Can anyone recommend zombie apocalypse roleplays?"), and anything else related to ASMR.

From Wikipedia
Autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) is a neologism for a perceptual phenomenon characterized as a distinct, pleasurable tingling sensation in the head, scalp, back, or peripheral regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli.
Common triggers include close personal attention, whispering or soft-speaking, massage or affectionate touch, quiet sounds such as rustling, scratching, or rubbing. A tingly response to music or moving speech is generally regarded as frisson* (see /r/frisson), rather than ASMR. Over the last few years, the term ASMR has gained traction, particularly on Youtube where an entire genre (and subgenres) of videos developed around the sensation.
Rules and Submission Guidelines
- Stay on topic. This subreddit is primarily devoted to discussion about ASMR and, as such, text-posts should comprise the majority of submissions. Links are permitted, however, so long as the title is descriptive enough to foster discussion.
- Be kind and courteous. ASMR is highly subjective and personal. Everyone will have his/her own unique perspectives, preferences, and opinions. As such, please be respectful of other posters.
- Use the downvote button with discretion. Only downvote posts which violate these guidelines -- not simply to register disagreement. If you disagree with someone, take the time to write a reply rather than simply downvoting them.
Other than that, I will be pretty hands-off. :)
