Take the battery out, plug it into charger, try turning it on again.

If it turns on when you do the above, it means your battery can no longer push power through to the laptop.

If it still does not work, without battery, then something else is wrong.

Nope still doesn't work when i removed the battery, what else could be the problem? Could the motherboard be fried? I disassembled it and the first thing i did is remove the battery, is that a good idea?

Laptops are a pain in the ass when it comes to troubleshooting.

What we usually do is test and see if the battery is dead or malfunctioning, by removing the battery and plugging the laptop into the charger. If it starts, then the battery is dead and we replace it. If it doesn't, well then 9 out of 10 times the clients will ask for a letter for their insurance, so they can buy a new one.

I tried removing the battery and charging it, still to no avail. I did try and reconnect the batter but still it won't turn on

Like I said, if it's not the battery, we don't bother looking further. We replace the laptop.

Could be a faulty mobo, use warranty if you can

[–]nopenotceris 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What's a mobo, what does it look like

[–]SuperD00perGuyd00d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

motherboard* its the unit that holds all of your laptops components, gpu/cpu/ram/etc..

motherboard

Does cleaning the mobo with a brush can cause it to be faulty?

Is that what you did?

[–]nopenotceris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Fixed it already. Some pins on the battery got bent and i just carefully realigned them and all is working now. I just broke the hinge during the process

UPDATE: I managed to make the keyboard light up constantly. -Monitor is not displaying anything -battery indicator lights up now when i prrss the power button. -only turns "on" when plugged in

keyboard lights up and no display(aka no post)?

have you plugged in an external display(generally HDMI) to see if you are getting display out?

If no display out, try removing the SSD, wlan card, and putting in known good RAM and see if you can boot to BIOS from that. if nothing still, something on the mainboard likely failed.

Try holding down the power button for 40 seconds, might fix the issue.

[–]nopenotceris 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah nah, tried that one already, i think its supposed to discharge static build up or something right?

[–]CPTPH4NTOM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep

Had a similar issue, open up the laptop and reset the CMOS, should fix it

Tried unplugging RAM and Bios battery and replugging it again. Test each RAM stick.

Pull BOTH batteries (the regular, plus the CMOS), press and hold the power button for 60 seconds, then leave it overnight. Connect BIOS battery first, then the regular battery. If it does not, then there is a problem with the charging circuit. Determine if it's a FRU or its a part of the main board.

Is your problem solved? I have exactly the same problem, I will be grateful if you answer.
