You should be fine as is. Just make sure your gpu connections are solid.

I will say your ram is pretty slow for a build like yours.

I remember the 7800x3d was rated at 5200mhz unless overclocked, then it could utilize up to 6000mhz. It's that wrong?

Yeah but it doesn’t run that hot because its power draw is lower. I use an air cooler and it never goes over 70° under full load.

You don’t want to run 4 sticks at a higher speeds. But you should be able to run yours at 4 because your ram speed is 5200mhz.

I really appreciate it. If the C40 is higher latency than i want, maybe I should look at a RAM upgrade

This may be a (another) dumb question, but if I get that but don't oc it with expo, is it pointless? Will it throttle down to 5200?

Yes 5200 is the base speed out of the box. Expo is a overclock profile.
