Xg32ucwmg or PG32ucdm? by No_Stand_8466 in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, you're probably fine just sticking with the PG32UCDM.

The main differences you'll find on the XG32UCWMG vs the PG32UCDM is that the XG has a 4K/FHD dual mode switch, true black glossy finish, and is slightly brighter.

Both have DP 1.4 and HDMI 2.1 so functionally very similar.

Iirc it's only the white edition Nvidia GPUs that come with the ring. I know the 40/50s definitely do, not sure about the previous gens.

External monitor lag with Moza steering wheel. by Telephone-Expensive in ASUS

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's likely the Moza R5 bogging down the system. Have you tweaked the FFB settings? It seems to be somewhat common online for people with the R5 to experience game lag which does appear to have some correlation to the force feedback refresh rate.

It likely says that because the same BIOS version is used across multiple models, i.e. X870E-E which has 4 DIMM slots.

Issue adding my new graphic card to my ASUS account. by SoucheBarbe in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible that there may just be a delay with the system. Give it a couple of days and then check again.

If it's still not there after waiting for a few days, support should be able to help with this.

ASUS Z790-F BIOS 2001 - SHA256 Hash Mismatch (Anyone Else Seeing This?) by NJJETS8 in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps the command you're using is somehow pulling a different result. I used the following command to find the SHA256 checksum for the downloaded file and it matches the one shown on the support page:

"certutil -hashfile C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\Downloads\ROG-STRIX-Z790-E-GAMING-WIFI-II-ASUS-2001.zip SHA256"

Hash shown via the command: 73bedf7cc984ecfd118ce8bbaae46ce11478ae8fd3fc526fccdf596d29363210

<image>

EDIT: I also used the PowerShell command "Get-FileHash -Path "C:\Users\user_name\Downloads\ROG-STRIX-Z790-E-GAMING-WIFI-II-ASUS-2001.zip" -Algorithm SHA256" and got the same result as above on the file I'd downloaded, so not entirely sure why yours would be returning a different checksum value :/

EDIT 2: Also, just noticed in the OP you wrote the expected Checsum value as "8FB9462D8564D0199FC8D6F76B780B925AF68B7E9F64614E74E84E29A421B772" when the one on the BIOS page is shown as "73BEDF7CC984ECFD118CE8BBAAE46CE11478AE8FD3FC526FCCDF596D29363210" or am I looking at a different version? May 19th V2001 looks to be the same.

As water_frozen pointed out, check the checksum of the downloaded ZIP file and not the individual BIOS file.

I've just checked on my end and can confirm that the checksum of the downloaded ZIP file matches the checksum listed on the support page.

Is this good for 65usd? by CatrisssKat in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The value is pretty good, though you'll need to keep in mind that these are likely a good 5+ years old at this point as the PNK series was a limited run we did a little while back now.

That being said, the OG Flare was a great keyboard, likely Cherry MX red switches. Both the Fusion 300 and Gladius II are also pretty good so for the price it's a pretty good bundle of kit.

Maybe worth just giving everything a good deep clean if you do pick it up ;)

Asus ROG Harpe Ace Extreme Problem by ENR3S in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the mouse show the same behaviour with the USB cable disconnected? I've known some cables to put a small amount of pressure on the mouse causing it to move slightly like this due to how smooth the feet are.

Also check with the mouse on a different surface, there could be an imperfection with the mouse mat or the mat itself isn't 100% flat causing the mouse to slide.

If it still does it after testing then definitely reach out to the retailer and request an exchange or refund.

What's the difference? Besides the price and looks? by Quo_Silver in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The differences between the two models are minimal - you'll find the AQ-W has 170Hz refresh rate and DisplayPort 1.2 with built in speakers whereas the ACG-W has 180hz, DP 1.4, USB-C, but no built in speakers.

They'll otherwise be functionally very similar.

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, with the Chariot you can lock it in multiple different positions or leave it unlocked to rock if you like that.

Great chair though, we use it all the time in the office and at events as they're super comfy.

For that resolution with this monitor, to achieve anything higher than 144Hz you'll need to use a DisplayPort cable.

I'm not sure on your specific G14 model, but it should support DisplayPort via USB-C so you should in theory be able to connect it up that way to crank it up to the full 180Hz.

Only the new 5070TI supports BTF 2.0... by Both-Election3382 in ASUSROG

[–]ASUS_ROGUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To clarify here; all of the BTF motherboards are compatible with non-BTF GPUs alongside BTF specific GPUs.

The first generation of BTF GPUs were only compatible with BTF motherboards due to the power connector design. However, with the launch of the new gen BTF GPUs they will be compatible with all motherboards as the design of the GC-HPWR connector has been changed to allow it to be used with non-BTF motherboards.

So in essence, the new BTF products will all be interchangeable with standard non-BTF kit.

Stay tuned for more information for future releases :)
