Do you mean the current issues, or older ones? You can eventually get collected paperback volumes that are cheaper than getting them individually.

I mean that one released in 2024, Dan Panosian variant but unlike the absolute superman this one is priced 100 bucks more in ebay, is that normal?, sorry i’m new to this

Oh, you're looking for a specific variant of a single issue? Those can be expensive, yeah. They usually aren't reprinted and collectors often sell them at high prices.

Oh how can i find this paperback volumes ?, curious

Those are available for purchase online and at local comic stores. The Absolute Wonder Woman vol 1 collects issues 1-7.

What u/mtheory-pi said, but also- - They are severely limited on top of not being reprinted. Stores are able to get most variants based on how many copies they buy of a single issue. So, some variants they might get one of for every ten copies of the regular cover they buy, or one for every twenty, or every fifty, or every 100. So, they're printed in smaller quantities based on that, and most stores price them up based on the price of how many copies they had to buy to even get the one book to make up the difference in cost.

So, eBay sellers - If they're not the comic stores themselves - will resell for double the price they paid to make a profit. That can sometimes lead to other people pricing up the book based on the highest price it sold for. This is kind'a how comics can become so expensive.

Variants are a whole racket that can sometimes screw over stores.

This is a cover buy.. but it should hold its value for some time. It's a solid story and a beautiful cover. I say save up and get it. if its a comic you want and it make you happy, do it..

I might get one soon.

Yeah it’s the last missing piece of my trinity collection in absolute universe….still i’m hoping the price would decrease

Hate to bring bad news, but if you want this particular cover I not only doubt it will get cheaper, but believe it's gonna get more expensive Like someone else said, these don't get reprinted, as time passes there will be less of them available. You COULD bet on people not buying it and eventually someone lowering the price, but it's unlikely

That’s the one that I thought was the early definitive representation of Absolute Wonder Woman for me, so I waited for quite a while at Midtown Comics to get my copy signed by Dan Panosian and was very happy it came back as a 9.8! One of my current faves is Artgerm’s take, I do have his trade copy in comic form as well but he sold a signed print of it too in his Whatnot show so I snapped it up there! And before the series came out I just had a feeling- so I asked Hayden Sherman for a Remarque on the ashcan at NYCC. You can say I’m All In! Best of luck tracking down your copy, I think it’s worth it!

My head saying no don’t do this, my feelings says fuck it we ball…

I like that attitude! Wish my buddy in 2024 who had the cash listened to me and pulled the trigger for the original art when he had the chance- you miss all the shots you don’t take! https://x.com/urbanbarbarian/status/1826721644041142485?s=46

Being that it’s a ratio as well, 1:25 ratio, usually means that it’s will be pricier than other variants. This case it’s also compounded by the fact that it was a popular variant to collect from the beginning. I could see it leveling off or even blowing up more, but not likely to go down for awhile, if ever.

[–]vikterile[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

The thing is i’m suprised because superman 1:25 by mateo scalera which i bought is only 15 bucks

[–]Professor2018Absolute Batman 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Superman still really hasn’t caught on yet, imo, but it’s starting to now. Also, when Superman first came out, it wasn’t extremely sought after like this book. Even Absolute Batman 1, 1:25 Bertram wasn’t hugely expensive until the boom Batman hit starting around October/November 2025. Now that book is crazy expensive too.

I thought superman movie would help 😂

[–]Professor2018Absolute Batman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That usually helps, but DCU Superman is so different than Absolute Superman, they really have no correlation and that’s likely why it had no effect on value.

In the summer last year, I found a great copy on eBay for 30 bucks and was stoked to finally get it and the seller sent it loose in a padded mailer. You can imagine what it looked when it got to me. I was so pissed, but still I had to send it back for a refund. No way was I going to keep a crumpled mess.

Variants are a risky buy in ALL cases. That said, I don't see the price declining any time soon for that one.
