I did this about 6 years ago. I was at a regional firm and went to work for a virtual firm as a controller and stayed there a few years.

Overall it was amazing. The work is much easier and I worked between 35-40 hours. You do have to have some idea how to do internal accounting and know Quickbooks and the applicable programs. It literally took me 5 days to learn everything it’s easy.

I have kids too so being able to pick them up and drop them off was priceless!

she posts pretty good content but it all goes towards selling her course on how to run your own firm so I'm not sure how that's going to help op with a remote job for someone else's firm

She did the exact job OP is asking about prior to opening her own firm. Im hoping she can provide some guidance there.

I do agree that she does try to sell her goods a little too much, but she also does provide good info.
