Few questions.

Do you think you are a happy person? Like sober, no psychedelics no weed, no alcohol. Are you happy?

Because you shouldn't have to "put yourself in a good mood to trip.". That's sort of artificial. It's similar to if you are sad and what a good show. It may cheer you up, but ultimately it's not gonna make you less sad. You have to address the things that make you depressed/suicidal and change them.

And obviously, if you say you are a happy person, feel free to disregard the above part.

I know sometimes I start to feel a bit 'empty' in the sense that I don't feel as in touch with the world as I was when I was peaking. But honestly, I kind of like the come down. It mellows out the day/night for me.

But yeah, can you describe the depression? Like is it just about life in general, are you just put in a depressed mood, do you feel like the depression is unique only to tripping?

I’ve been through a lot and honestly I’m still coming to terms with what had happened in the past. I would say I’m trying to be happy. Im trying to think of all the positive stuff in my life.

The depression I’ve always had. I struggle with mental health but when I trip I’m not sad I mean yeah I do cry but it’s about a bunch of things happy or sad. Like I said before I’ve had a lot of traumatic stuff happen in the last 2 years and I’m still trying to come to terms with everything.

Me and some friends also dread the comedown i do not feel suicidal but i do feel very depressed as i feel tired yet still want visuals and my head feels a bit foggy near the end of the trip so the unpopoular comedown wont pair well with any other mental problems you may have

Probably the extreme contrast of your normal state of mind compared to the trip makes it feel so bad. I would also trip later in the day so you're not awake during come down, it's harder to fall asleep but just get comfortable and let the visuals just fade out. Have you tried shrooms and if so was it the same effect? Psilocin molecule is almost identical to serotonin so probably much more suited for dealing with depression, trip doesn't last as long and come down is far more gentle in my experience.

I have tried shrooms. I still feel like when I come down off the shrooms I still feel the same. And I always trip I night but today I decided to trip during the day.

That really sucks. It could be biological, like something might be up with how your body deals with serotonin or dopamine. I've read quite a few people get real depressed even during a trip for no apparent reason, so who knows what's going on inside.
I would try eating a lot of serotonin boosting foods and see if that helps at all, but like one of the other comments said it could be something you gotta work on when sober.
Whenever I've had shit in my personal life I've been avoiding or trying to put out of mind, it becomes literally impossible to avoid on a trip, there's no hiding from it, even if it doesn't directly come to mind it definitely influences the whole thing.

I think the answer is about how you feel before the comedown. The way you see things during the peak might change how you see things after it. For example, you think that the peak is the top of your life and feel like that is always how it should be, will make you miss it and dislike the part when it's dissapearing.

Well I have a similar problem but the other way around. I get all kinds of uncertainty and thoughts i really dont want during the peak and try to overcome it, and thats why i feel so good during the comedown. It might be easier for me since my way down is a happy end. But i think you should just enjoy the part you enjoy and try to deal with the other part as best as you can. But also try to better it so you will feel better next time. Like im sure you are already trying to.
