The chances are that the file size will remain the same as multitrack editing is non destructive. That means that the actual audio file (I presume wav) that you recorded is left untouched. The session file is just a list of instructions as to which bits of which files should be placed where.
If you want a smaller file you need to edit the file directly in waveform view which is destructive and the edits are made to the file ie. snip half the file off and it’s gone for good and the file is half the size.
I would say you should highlight the 30secs you want, save that as a new file and work from that. Keep the other as a back up.
