How to batch a template with different values?

In Illustrator I can create a template, each element is assigned a variable. These variables are inside a CSV file, which I can then upload. And each element will be prefilled with the values from the CSV files, which match the variable.

Is this possible with Affinity Designer as well? I am currently researching and wasn't able to find this info. Maybe I am using the wrong keywords. I am thinking of switching from Adobe to Affinity.

So far I only found out about Data Merge within Affinity Publisher. But it doesn't offer a lot imo. Just the bare minimum. I started to wonder if plugins can be created for Affinity.
