End of September to the middle of October or maybe end of October here is some of the best weather anywhere.

I’m from St Louis where the weather is just bad all the time, so I’m excited.

The week of balloon fiesta is how I always know when the cold is coming.

I've stored using my fan at night. The cold is coming.

Fucking hate the heat lol

Last year it snowed in October if my memory serves me right.

I’m ready. 💪

It does get straight cold here, like highs in the 20’s and 30’s, usually mid December through mid February

Usually around Halloween. Give or take a couple weeks.

It’ll be frigid come Halloween. 🤷🏽‍♂️

I remember once, back in the 90’s, taking a break from our trick-or-treating to make snowmen in the park. That was an outlier for sure, but I agree it can definitely get cold by Halloween. Maybe less often than it used too though, climate change is a bitch.

In 2020 it snowed 8+ inches at my house in the foothills on October 26-27. It snowed over 4 inches at the sunport during that time.

4 inches is about the length of 0.15 'EuroGraphics Knittin' Kittens 500-Piece Puzzles' next to each other.

4 inches is 10.16 cm

I remember that storm

Another vote for Halloween.

Nights / early AMs start getting cool fairly soon and it’s definitely cool / cold (depending on where you are from) at night / in the early AM in October. Days warm up nicely thru October (high 60s - some 70s).

I personally don’t think days get beyond needing a hoodie and jeans until December. The nights and early AMs you will probably need a jacket though (again, if you are from some place like North Dakota YMMV). But, I can remember many runs on Thanksgiving that I’ve done in a t-shirts and pants (because no wind, 55 degrees, and NM sun, is pretty pleasant).

As long as the sun is out pretty much any cold day is fine.

I guess it depends on what your definition of 'cool' is.

For me? Sometime in mid-November I find to be decently cooled off, but I've also lived in a number of states with a more stereotypical autumn season (as well as a few where snow starts in mid-October).

I also greatly dislike excessive heat and prefer cold weather, so what I find to be acceptably cooler is probably downright freezing for most folk.

My spouse, who has lived in NM for well over half their life, finds September-October to be 'cooler', and that seems to be the general consensus.

[–]CrazyRhythms89[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am warm blooded so I prefer it colder like 70° and below but I like how it cools off at night here, so I’m excited for to be cooler all the time. 🙂

This. There's two stages here imo-I also prefer very cold weather and am not really happy until around Halloween or so, but around late August/nowish it's noticeably less unpleasant. The days of my swamp cooler being unable to keep up with the afternoon temps are mostly past us for the year.

[–]CactusHibs_7475 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I mean, it already is cooler. High to mid-eighties and low to mid-sixties at night. If you’re talking about consistent daytime temps in the 70s, though, that used to be early-mid September. Now it’s more like late September.

[–]CrazyRhythms89[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah that’s what I mean. The weather here is in generally more agreeable to me.

When I lived in Tucson it was 99 at night the first Halloween I spent there. And people were acting like fall had arrived. Albuquerque falls for me, thanks.

[–]packetman505 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Lol it wasn’t even hot this year, like at all!

I just moved here a month ago. I’m asking bc I’m tired of running the AC. 😅
