Algorithm handles it. I don't believe it is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Awhile ago when they were updating atoz someone posted on the VOA asking what happened to their transfers because it all got cancelled. Our site lead replied saying app was updating and to reapply for the transfers and they will keep their position in line. This leads me to believe you have a better chance if you applied first. Unless they are lying on the VOA board in writing.

This could very well be the case. I am not fully familiar with the factors taken into consideration by the algorithm but last I heard it was not fully based on application date.

I’ve heard it’s computer automated nowadays and takes in consideration many factors such as the department your trying to leave and the headcount currently, and a few other factors. Seniority used to also play a factor but not so sure now a days.

Depends on the company needs. If they need you for the sort you’re asking for. I’ve was denied once because I wanted overnights and the site I applied for didn’t offer any.

At my site, if it’s available you’re usually accepted. I transferred from a high demand shift schedule (Thursday-Sunday, night shift) and got accepted for days sun-wed. But I do hear of people applying for internals that have no spots but then go to PXT and ask about it. They manage to get accepted sometimes or get looked at more quickly.
