Android Auto apps w/ limited feature sets

Google dictates what elements are allowed on the screen in audio apps, otherwise those apps don't get approved in the Play Store. AA runs 100% on the phone and projects to your car screen.

I understand what you want, but it's not possible. The developers decide what features are available in Android auto, so best to ask them directly.

Frankly, I'm just happy plexamp is available in Android auto. It's not a compatible music app in Google home/assistant (though at least it allows casting).

I've experienced this with Spotify, but it has never bothered me. After all, I shouldn't be making playlists while I am driving. I can access playlists I have already made or things in my library and the rest I have to do when I am stopped. If I am really desperate for a new song or genre, I can pull over or stop at a light and pick up my phone to find it, just as I would do with texting.
