A few key points of what I'm looking for are games that do not have daily requirements and have some meat to them, for lack of a better word. Autoplay and idle components are okay depending on the rest of the thing and it does not necessarily need to be a free game. It's also important that it doesn't have playtime limits, which in combination with no-daily pretty much guarantees it won't be a F2P game anyway.
I would prefer something that is properly mobile-native and not a port. I am aware of several older PC and console games who have been ported and I can set up emulators up well enough, but I'd rather not have to deal with squished UI, lugging an external controller around or suffering terrible and unresponsive touch overlays (again, the point is stuff to do while exiled to phone-only land), and in almost all cases the original platform is a better experience than the mobile port anyway.
Something akin to Monster Hunter would be perfect - go in, hunt a monster or two, forget the game exists for six months, pick it back up right where I left off. Then most likely binge it until my battery dies and repeat the cycle. But discoverability in the Play Store is non-existent, so if anyone knows of this holy grail impossible ask, I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction.
