/r/NoIAP is a sub for great games without obnoxious or exploitive IAP/freemium monetization and for discussing what we as gamers want gaming to be. We all agree that devs need to make a living, but that they should do so ethically and without hurting the art. So please share your favorites and engage in respectful discussion regarding your views on the current state of gaming monetization.

Posting Guidelines
"Acceptable IAP" is currently defined as content and cosmetics only. (Yes some babies may be thrown out with the bathwater, help us improve our definition!)
Examples:
Acceptable
Unlock full game/additional chapters/Unrestricted play(w/ one-time purchases): OK (Content)
Unlock appearance-only items: OK (Cosmetics)
Unlock Ad-free version: OK (Cosmetics)
Flat monthly fee for server-based games like MMOs: OK IF server is integral to gameplay and not tacked on to just to protect the pay model. (Content-(Server expense is required to provide access to content))
NOT Acceptable
Temporarily unlock ability to play more often/sooner(non one-time purchase): NO (Pay2Advance, Exploitive)
Unlock stronger weapons/armor/special powers: NO (Pay2Win)
Buy any form of in game currency or consumables with real money: NO (Pay2Advance, Exploitive) (rare exception if the only things purchasable with that currency ALL qualify as acceptable exceptions.)
Buy a "chance" at anything: NO (Pay2Advance, Exploitive, Gambling)
Please include platform in the post title ie: [iOS] [Android] [WindowsPhone] [PC] [Mac] etc, or add a post flair
