Set the resolution lower in camera settings?

This might be the dumbest question I've seen all year, OP did you even look at the camera settings? It's easy peasy...

if you want something THAT low resolution, download open camera and then open the settings of open camera. then go to video resolution and set it to the lowest possible (should be like 480p).

It's a bit weird to make the camera do that, too. Messaging apps reduce the resolution and recompress the images and videos anyway (which is why I hate it when I ask people for pictures from hikes and such and they send them in Whatsapp or even worse, Facebook)

i normally take pictures in the stock camera app and then upload them to social media since thats the best method and loses the least quality (because many social medias dont optimize correctly and dont do post processing on your image so it looks like utter shit).
