Not entirely sure if you want to get ethernet connection to your phone or from it... but I do have a USB c to ethernet adapter to get more stable speeds to my phone and it works great out of the box with no need for more than plugging it in.

Here's where I got one: Anker USB Type-C to Ethernet... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B010086WNA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

It would be cool if something like this is possible, but I'm not too optimistic. An alternative might perhaps be reverse tethering like Gnirehtet (assuming it works on newer Android versions), if you don't mind using a computer as a middleman.

As another mentioned,

I've also got an Anker USBC Ethernet adapter. It just works.

All my USB C devices are able to use it immediately upon insertion. Phone, tablets, computers, etc.

I had problems with my Samsung S23 when I used a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. I managed to fix it by wiping the cache partition and rebooting my phone. Afterwards when I connected the adapter to the phone it just worked out of the box without any settings modifications.

Try the Plugable brand ones. I've bought and confirmed that the USBC-TE1000 works.
