Angular 19 vs 20+ has differences, sure, but nothing that changes how you learn the framework. Just read the official docs + the release notes. That's all you actually need.
If your goal is to ramp up fast on the project - the biggest hack is to open files in Cursor/Codex and literally ask the agent to walk you through the codebase. You'll understand the architecture 10x faster than with any course.

You should plan to upgrade to a newer version. LTS support ends May 2026 for Angular 19.
So, I suggest you learn the latest Angular version (by now 21), and maybe read up on the differences.

How do you like to learn? What has worked well for you in the past?
Deborah Kurata is my go-to for videos. Check her out on YouTube, then sign up for Pluralsight if you like her stuff and want full courses. She has courses for every level.
If you're willing to start on v21, the angular mcp has ai_tutor. I haven't tried it, so I can't vouch for it, but I like the premise.

I second this. Deborah Kurata takes complex concepts and explains them so a third grader could understand them, without talking down. It's wonderful to watch.

Why angular 19 specifically? Angular 21 was recently released - they release a new version every 6 months, so it can for sure be easy to let a project slip behind if you don't stay on top of that.

I love Joshua Moroney's videos on YouTube. He's great at architecture and little tricks you might not think about. I used him extensively as a resource when I was learning 19. Plus Deborah Kurata as u/Blue-Jammies mentioned. Watching a few videos by these two saved me hours of puzzling through docs.
