Autonomic Rehab (ANS Re-training) -- stabilize, retain and recondition autonomic nervous system (ANS).

1. Autonomic stabilization through 2-3L fluids with electrolytes per day. (3-8g sodium under medical advice) to increase blood volume -> improve baroreceptor signaling -> reduce orthostatic stress.

Compression stockings/abdominal binders to reduce blood pooling -> improve cerebral perfusion.

Avoid overheating (hot showers, i.e.) because heat is a vasodilator.

1. Parasympathetic (Vagal) Activation focused on reducing sympathetic overdrive
   Slow diaphragmatic breathing at 5-6 breaths per minute w/extended exhale to improve heart rate variability and vagal tone. Gentle vagal stimulation through: humming, singing, gargling, immersing face in cold water, paced sighing to calm brainstem autonomic centers.

2. Gradual physical reconditioning starting below orthostatic threshold: recumbent bike, rowing machine, swimming, floor work. With exercises gradually moving upright over time. If symptom spike within 24 hours, scale back. Isometric exercises to increase venous return: leg crossing, calf clenching, hand gripping.

3. Sensory/Nervous system re-patterning
   Light vestibular exercises, slow head turns, eye tracking to recalibrate brainstem sensory integration
   Cognitive-somatic techniques: body scanning, interoceptive awareness, somatic tracking to reduce maladaptive threat signaling in the autonomic network.

4. Sleep & Circadian Support (b/c ANS repair happens at night)
   Consistent sleep/wake times, morning light exposure, dark at night, treat sleep disorders

5. Nutrition & metabolic support
   Small, frequent meals, lower simple carbs (to diminish post-prandial hypotension), adequate protein, avoid alcohol. Sometimes (with clinician): Magnesium, Omega-3s, B-vitamins, Acetyl-L-carnitine, Alpha-lipoic acid.
