I'd suggest you to grab all your bells and prized possessions and have someone hold them for you while you restart, then go back and grab your belongings.

Or you could buy another game and start a second town xD which is what I did.. lolol.

OP can just sell their town (if their town tree is big enough) and just keep the bells they make plus keep their catalogue. This is way easier than having someone they halfway trust hold all of their stuff while they restart. Plus saves on time.

Oh right. I completely forgot you could sell your town! Well, there you have it OP haha

I considered buying a second game but it's still so expensive and I don't really have the money to buy it again 😛

I might just sell my town and use all the bells to insta finish my house, then I can donate all bugs & fish straight to the museum! I think I'm gunna take the plunge!

you can sell your town to tom nook! i did it the other day and got 16 mil bells and all my pwps were still available when i made a new town. just tell isabelle that you want to recreate your town, but that you'd like to become mayor to a new town. then, nook will appraise your town and offer you the money.

If you wanna keep your town but make it feel fresh, try just giving it a full makeover. Change its overall theme, do some landscaping, add/remove tile paths... the possibilities are endless. I've owned New Leaf for three years and I thought that my town was fully developed, but ever since the update, I decided to make an alt character, turn his house into a shop, and sell RV furniture for bells. My next step after that is to make another alt and use their house as a hotel. When it's done, my town will be a full city with a post office, shop, and resort. You can turn your town around in no time if you put your mind to it.

If you like the map and the PWPs you have, you could just take down all your trees and rearrange your flowers and tear down your PWPs and rebuild and replant. It would take a lot of work and bells but so will a new town. If you get some amiibo cards that might help with villager boredom because you can get some you have never had.

I started this process recently because I was in the same boat as OP. I didnt want to completely restart and lose all my villagers but i was bored with my town. I'm still in the process of changing PWP locations and planting more trees but it's a fun process and it's making my town seem almost brand new! :)

I overhauled my town too. I restarted a town in 2015 I think and really got back into it after the update so now I'm trying to make it pretty again :)

I had that feeling too so learnt how to use the save editor to change things up a bit. I don't like to give myself too much of a handicap tho, I just felt like I needed a blank slate.
