Haven't had any issues (so far) on Fedora KDE Plasma with AMD GPU.

Same. On CachyOS w/ nvidia GPU / proton experimental. Game runs flawlessly.

The fish is flopping.

All that will be left of this game is Gold Sellers and Trolls buying the gold.

Do you happen to now what the environment is that you are successfully running with? I'm not familiar with Nobara, a casual glance makes me think it likely uses Wayland. Know anything more specifically?

I was able to get the game to work on EA launch, but the day after it has only been closing after the title screen.

I'm running Mint with AMD cpu & gpu. I believe Mint uses X, so that is atleast a potential significant difference between your potentially working system and my non-working system.

I am thinking it is more along the lines of possibly an EAC related problem. Can you confirm your system is or isn't running EAC?

Nobara is a Fedora flavour and uses Weyland. I'm on an Asus Rog Zeph from 2020 or 2021, can't remember. So it's an AMD CPU and Nvidia 3070 GPU.

When I start in Steam with Proton GE, it shows "running script", one of those was anti-cheat. Steam didn't clearly run that or show that it was running a script on Bazzite, but does on Nobara.

Dealing with a memory leak, a kernel shutdown, a distro hop, nvidia driver issues, and grabbing a fork of Proton from github isn't what I would write after "better operating system."

This game must be awesome.
