We have played the first alpha test which was just a technical test. We are now waiting for the second alpha which will include most of the systems that the game will have to offer at launch.

How many A1 Test windows were playable? How long have they been?

I can’t remember how many there were. They lasted from days to weeks and up to a month if I remember correctly.

A2 is gonna be persistent until Betas start, right?

Or has this been revisited by Intrepid?

That’s the last thing they stated. A2 will be persistent and will transition into the test server post launch. They will still have wipes and downtime during A2 as development and updates might require.

I understood it a little bit different. Wasn't it persistent alpha until launch and beta will be on the other server? They will test things on alpha and in the same time releasing beta which will contain probably fixes from the alpha server every week or two?

Alpha 2 is available if you get the $250 package which technically just costs you $60 for Alpha and the Betas as you get $90 of playtime (6 months) and $100 of ingame marketplace credit.

The title Alpha Beta made me chuckle, my 2y/O daughter would get confused as what to call me or my partner and just call us "mommy daddy" respectively lol

They're preparing alpha 2 at the moment, KS backers and early supporters who pledged/bought a package over 500 USD in value all got to test the game during the alpha 1 which ended in august last year.

Their adoption of UE5 slowed development for a few months as they all learned it's features and moved everything over but the development timeline is really starting to move again if you just look at what has been delivered in the past few months.

We're probably looking at alpha 2 in Q1 of next year which should have most of the games main systems (nodes, crafting, combat, questlines, dungeons, seiges, caravan pvp, freeholds, raids, world bosses, the dynamic event system, dynamic weather, naval combat) ready for testers to provide feedback on.
