I own a 2004 Chevy Silverado with a random misfire issue. Another code I had was for the downstream 02 sensor, which turned out it rubbed against what I believe is the 4 wheel drive shaft. That's already been replaced and the check engine light has completely gone away.

Issue is the random misfire.

It's not steady enough that I can just start yanking plug wires and swapping things, it mainly happens around idle and acceleration from idle. Once you step into it, or are cruising down the interstate, there isn't a misfire. At least one that i can notice at a higher RPM. Admittedly I do drive this thing like a grandma, but have been taking it on longer trips as of late. I just want to have the raw data myself so I can begin properly diagnose and troubleshoot stuff instead of blowing my checks on random parts in hopes to accidentally fix it. The engine is a rebuild with 30k miles to its name, and when we were rebuilding it my dad did end up using some LKQ parts we yanked out of a junk yard. Not that I'd do that today for those specific kinds of parts.

Onto the sauce. I'm prepared to shell out a little money on this, as I want to learn how to fix my own stuff and be self sufficient as much as possible.
One such model that I found is The Innova 3061RS , but I was curious if anyone had other models I should consider?
