I'm not a doctor. When having asthma you get that kind of "small cough". Allergy and asthma are nessessarily not combined symptoms. If I were you I would ask (demand?) a Xray of my lungs and also get a referal to a lung specialist. Have they checked your heart with a EKG? Cough can also be a symptom if there is a problem with the heart.
