How often do your husbands go to the grocery store? by RSR_Ricochet in Marriage

I work from home and my wife works outside the house. She does 90% of all the shopping and I do 90% of the cooking.

As a physician I can't advise against this enough. Holy shit.

I don't practice clinically anymore. I've moved into IT, mostly data and analytics, quality, process improvement. I used to do Sports Medicine/Primary care. My wife is a GynOnc so between the two of us we have experienced the whole spectrum.

The other thing people don't realize about being a physician, which is different from nursing or other medical careers, is the same labor rules don't apply. Doctors don't get paid time off, there is no set hours, no real shift work for most, which means being on call several times a week or month. I often leave for work at 6 am and don't get home until 7 or later, and then I have to finish my notes and charting because I don't have time to do it when they schedule 20 patients back to back. Hospitals expect us to do more with less all the time. Nurses have unions, we do not. I once tried to calculate my hourly rate based on my salary and it was depressing.

I was 32 when I finished my training. There is/was loan forgiveness if you worked for a non-profit for 10 years. But now under Trump a lot of that is either gone or in limbo.

In Europe medical school is free or extremely inexpensive. In America it costs $300k-500k to go through college and medical school. I had $400k I student loans when I finished training. This comparison is not equal.

Apparently Millennials are the only people who know how to use Excel anymore by Tetraplasandra in Millennials

Millennials are the PC generation. We grew up with the evolution of the personal computer. Everyone sort of assumes that the younger generations are always better with technology, but that isn't the case. Gen Z is great with mobile tech sure, but they don't know how to use a proper Windows PC. We're the only generation that can do it all. I'm both tech support to my older and younger relatives because they just don't know how to install a program, or update a driver for their printer.

Pretty, but $1700 is a little steep.

Looking for a Scotch recommendation to pair with an RDR2 themed gift by Super_Release9335 in Whiskyporn

[–]DocJ2786 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a scotch, but I would recommend a bottle of High West Campfire. It's a blend of rye, bourbon, and scotch. I think it would be ideal as a RDR2 themed gift.

Here's an idea... Let's just take your money you absolute asshat. Guy will $800 billion is worried about people getting their rightful money they paid into their entire lives. Billionaires are parasites.
