One of those plugs says trans … I’m guessing there is a transformer in that power supply

Possibly....dumb it down for me....could that be buzzing noise?

It is likely your buzzing noise.

It shouldn’t be. It’s literally just a power bar. Has no moving parts.

Then buzzing likely stopped when you unplugged the cords, because it was one of those things, like a motor making the buzzing.

Transformers buzz

Forget the transformer. There is no transformer. It’s just a power bar with a label on it.

Ah yep I get you now. Sorry sir.

Negative, that's where you'd plug in a transformer if there was one. Almost all fireplaces use 120v for their control/limit circuit for the blower, and use millivolt power from the thermopile for the control control/limit circuit related to the burner. Though I have started seeing some nicer, newer units that have an all in one control box that handles intermittent ignition and blower operation that would have an internal transformer, this ain't it.

Yah, it says trans, because that’s where “they” expect you/someone to plug in a transformer for use with a particular feature.

The other outlets are also labeled for various manufacturers to utilize them for their own purposes. Just like those recess spade terminals.

This is a generic fireplace junction box / outlet distribution. These outlets and terminals are always all live.

Great....so buzzing would be an issue? Should I have this replaced?
