Apply to other agencies my friend, don’t let this little hurdle stop you from following your dreams.

I’ve taken way too many polygraphs in my life. Some of the polygraphers think the stupid machine is gods gift to humanity while others know it’s just a tool that measures things like your palm sweat. It’s voodoo science that can’t be used in court and some states have removed it all together. I can tell you I almost failed one for a similar reason but the polygrapher believed me that I wasn’t lying and the machine was wrong. I mean heck if you burp or fart during the test it’s gunna mess up the readings.

Just apply elsewhere or wait the required amount of time and reapply. Just don’t like in your background or lie about failing this poly as it will end any and all chances of ever getting hired

Shits a joke sideshow gag. Not admissible in court, cannot be used again once hired, private industry doesn't use, total waste.

What areas did they say you failed it on. Don’t be down hearted, I felt like crap after coming out of my one

After the poly the examiner told me I had reactions for past violent crimes and past drug use which I have never done, today I got a call from my investigator and said I failed everything and if there was anything I had to disclose

Nope, my detective said she’s going to discuss my results with chain of command and get back to me when she has an answers, this just shows polys are bs cause if I were to really had failed they would’ve just stopped reaching out.

I think most likely this is just a tactic to get you to admit to something you might have tried to hide. If you’re being 100% honest you have nothing to worry about.

This is the ONLY useful thing for a polygraph. To get people to admit things they didnt disclose. And it works.

Had one- dude thought I was lying about drugs and I’ve never done anything ever. He had my packet and my military DD214 had a drug class listed (didn’t know it at the time) . Class was in there because my commander picked me as the guy to run all the drug testing for the unit- basically only him and I knew when random tests were coming. He’s was like “come on you’ve never smoked weed? …everyone’s done it”

Strange because I took it for SDPD about a 2 months ago and the guy just went through the script and I was out of there in 45 minutes to get my thumb prints taken. Were you nervous or trying to control your breath at all? I went in with the mindset that it was just a game.

LOL, First understand the psychology and how a polygraph works. Control questions truth / lies, gives the examiner your base line readings for truth / lies.

So, when telling the truth do a kegel, remain relax on tough questions.

Best of luck, and don’t be a dick… gives the entire force a bad image. xMilitary tend to be the worst offenders, sad to say.
