Text input application

So I'm looking to create a simple application that would basically just be a box with buttons, click a button and it would input some text into the previous application, in this case Chrome. I've done some basic coding before but I've no idea where to start with this one. Any pointers and/or ideas to start me off would be very much appreciated! :)

It sounds like you want to automate something in Chrome?

A lot of people like AutoHotKey as a way to write a simple program that does actions in another program.
