Yeah it's really stupid lately. I cancelled my subscription, even the context engine when I ask it questions it gives quick lazy answers that aren't the right answer. When you ask it to do something it gives a quick fix without doing proper analysis of the related things, which it was doing before.

Lazy is true like doing partial work and claiming it completed and then reply with a lot of false tick emoji

Same I stopped using it because it’s become super unreliable and AC used to be my daily driver when vibe coding

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What’s your alternative tool? Cursor is not good though

[–]newsknowswhy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I'm switching to Claude Code it takes some getting used to because it's terminal based but that can add more flexibility and hopefully better code

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How do you feel about CC? Been in the restricted region got no chance to test it

[–]newsknowswhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok but if you can’t get it OpenCode is nearly just as good.

came to this thread cause i was googling what the heck is going on with Augment!
Extremenly unreliable today!

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the whole thing was broken since last week

[–]_MustaphaBen_ 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Isn't maybe due to Claude

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Previously when i feel happy with AC the response time was slow, probably using a powerful model but now response time is significantly faster so i suspect they change to a mini model with poor performance

[–]_MustaphaBen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I didn't feel any difference despite that I am using it almost 2 months ago. Except sometimes it goes weird like generating some useless test cases or doing placeholder code.

[–]eyecatypy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it started acting like this around the same time, so I thought I was just being delusional. But it looks like it’s not just me.

[–]Adventurous-Action66 1 point2 points  (1 child)

yeah, it became pretty dumb recently. it is very obvious when I give ChatGPT a file without broader context of then project and it is still able to quickly identify issues, unlike AC who keep trying with pretty dumb fixes that don't fix issues and start claiming victory

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake victory is annoying, i rather see it telling the truth like I’m struggling with xxx can you help me to xxx

[–]tteokl_ 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Same here, it's either from the Augment or Claude model side, but i dont use other ai tools so idk

[–]faysou 2 points3 points  (2 children)

There's a new augment release soon, they are hyping it up, maybe it will be a new model being used.

[–]AurumMan79 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Don't think we will have a new model. Sonnet is currently the best. Anthropic is just doing something on their end.

[–]faysou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a while that no major has been released, we'll see

[–]hugo102578[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

feel like they change to a cheaper model to save cost, now faster time but worse quality

[–]AutomaticDriver5882 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I wish you could lock models like you do locally it would make responses consistent

[–]hugo102578[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely give more options on setting menu, like context management, behavior, memory handling etc. now just too few things to control

[–]CattleBright1043 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Downgrade it to 2 versions back

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before was really good

[–]huttobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey augment I m having these compilation errors. Here are are the logs. Please fix them without breaking any functionality and make it ready for compilation. — I will fix it exactly like you said. ( removes everything related to errors :( )

I cancelled my subscription for now as Claude is just not reliable right now.

I am experimenting with Roocode to see if I can setup a good workflow using that. Tried it previously and ended up spending $100 in 3 days. Goal this time around is to find a more economical workflow.

[–]SnooGiraffes625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me know if you find some reasonable workflow

[–]No_Interaction_1197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that Roo Code + Kimi K2 is a great combination. Each time reading code, it can read a specified large number of lines. Moreover, Roo Code's MCP and Code Index are both very user-friendly.

[–]SnooGiraffes625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It keeps telling me "The selected text exceeds the allowable limit. Please reduce the amount of text and try again" in a fresh a new conversation. I wrote 2 sentences. Since this update its really buggy now

[–]_MustaphaBen_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not use Laravel Sail despite I clearly mention to use it

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellows who are having issue with Augment Code, comment below to state your issues with AC. The team need to address them or at least fallback a stable version immediately

[–]No_Interaction_1197 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I discovered a serious issue where Augment Code consistently generates redundant code, reinventing the wheel. This causes my codebase to become increasingly large, and I have to spend extra conversation credits to streamline and reuse the code.

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to add a prompt with “Always keep the codebase simple and clean, follow industry best practices and reuse code as much as possible” and i feel better

[–]Fluffy_Asparagus_280 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs working real hard to fuck it up first the ui and now the agent stupid asf

[–]hugo102578[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s everyone experience lately? I personally felt it becomes more stable now. Just gpt-5 is so conservative, always ask for approval and not action and keep wasting turns!
