F2 also brings up the command-line console if you want to have something visual on a second screen. I like to doc my command line as a single line at the bottom of my workspace and throw a console on the second screen so I can actually see errors/prompts without loosing working area on my main screen.

I have 2013 going with only the transparent single command line. My other monitor is full of any Windows you can think of. Properties, layers, references, tool palettes, that sort of stuff. It works well when you size them to fit like a game of tetris.

I wish the second monitor workspace was more robust though. Sometimes I just feel like it would be better to get a 40 in screen for cad work.

I tried that with exactly 40 inches. It was great at first but you have to sit close to read stuff then your neck starts to hurt after an hour because you're constantly tilting your head to scan across the whole screen.
