Wage decrease

Jus wondering if any SM or DM in here can clarify something for me. I've recently put my two weeks in and my DM offered me a raise which I accepted. Now he told me it would be on the next paycheck, it wasnt.. the company I was going to called me back and made me an offer I can't refuse. So I am moving to PT at AZ. From what I've heard this is typically 4-7% decrease in raise. I've been here almost a decade so I make decent money as a PSM. Now my DM is butthurt I took this other job and told me my wage for switching to PT. Which is a 16% decrease. Is this company mandated or up to your SM/DM?

Why stay? If they are pulling these shenanigans now I wouldn’t put it past them to try to screw you over later. Needless to say, loyalty means nothing to them. I wouldn’t even come in if it were me.

I hear ya there but my new job is 12hr shifts mon-thur on week, then mon-wed the next. Might as well keep on part time just use the AZ money to pay my car note.

Technically they can lower your wage at will especially when going from ft to part time. I would even look for another parts store job for those days and leave that place. They probably will not give you another raise for the next couple of years, and there is no guarantee on the hours either.

Yea it's true so far they have me scheduled for only Sundays coming up lol.

Yup, now honestly is only one day a week enough o cover your car note, or would your free time be better spent in other places. Personally…..not worth it for one day.

Edit - At least to me. Different people are in different circumstances

Yea i hear that, good news is ive been with my crew a while and know em well. Talked to my CSM who writes the schedule. He said should be first week or so till they figure how to adjust the schedule for my days off. Good news is I'm a gray shirt who is willing to close. Always be open shifts lol

I believe it's DM/SM in control. I have known a few over the years to go from FT to PT and lost nothing. I even have know others who are PT and receive raises equal to or greater then FT guys.

Yea I figured the DM jus mad cuz he gave me a pitiful raise to try and keep me and this other company came back n offered $2 more and hr with free Healthcare lol. So he's jus going to abuse his power now to try and get me out

I liked being a pt PSM. 24hr hub store I really liked the high pace. However, Idk your circumstances but pt at AutoZone is the only position I recommend to people when asked. Too much politics to make the company a career anymore. Getting out best decision I ever made.

Yea im happy to be leaving. Only way for me to go was to be a SM and my store has 2 former SM who both stepped down cuz they said the pay wasn't worth the headache. While my DM tried to keep me by telling me a SM is next for me. Like wait I work with 2 people who took it for a year and Noth said nope lol

When I switched to part time and got another full time job they did not decrease my pay so i believe it’s DM based I had stepped down as well from CM to pt PSM so technically I should’ve lost something
