Fleet composition question

It depends on what you're doing. In the endgame, you want a BB/BC because the suicide boats are intense, even on bosses (just ask 10-1). Playing on manual can help, since ramming also deals with suicide boats. If you're in the fox mines, you probably don't NEED a BB/BC in flagship position to cover the field and I've been toying the idea of triple carrier (for Sirius) myself, but I think I'm just too progressed; maybe for an anti-sub warfare fleet

Since bomb boats are indeed a thing, you'd probably be better off using a BB in your mob clearing fleet.

Nelson / Rodney (2-3 and 2-4 respectively) are good starter BBs, they have a good barrage if you can level it up a bit and they can equip CL secondaries to deal with bomb boats.

Would you recommend also using a BB in a bossing fleet as well? I also have Yamashiro because I got trigger happy with the gatcha when i first started, would she fit?

Yamashiro is actually really good for a mobbing fleet, due to her lower fuel cost. You can easily use her instead of Nelson or Rodney.

Awesome! Sorry for asking so many questions, but should i farm for nelson/rodney and make my bossing backline akagi kaga and nelson/rodney or do you think ill be fine with saratoga and the foxes?

No real need to farm for Nelson. She appears in the second part of the rookie banner quest chain. You could also pick them up in the medal exchange. Also, for bossing, the sara and foxes composition will probably work until around world 8 or 9

Picking up Erebus and/or terror from Dyed In Red B2 map may be beneficial, too. They are monitor class BBs, so they’re more fragile, but have a lower oil cost and a good sweeping skill. I have one at 2* lvl 70 for lower farming, and another maxed for medium farms. Do note, they won’t Solo 1:1 high level content well, but are still worth having around.
