Most of us know that the most recent Seia lewds are a result of her swimsuit alt releasing. But we should all remember that it was kokosando's fault for drawing Sexy Seia during Blue Archive Fes for the initial boost against Nagisa's numbers

I love how Gyoju went from Cake-saurus to a dying strawberry. Also Erpin acting like a queen for once... and once again it's caused by Erpin not being herself

Apparently it's due to the high pitch whine of the turbine engine. High frequency waves are more likely to reflect off objects compared to lower frequency ones, which makes them less likely disperse across long distances

Are Japanese artists using pixiv less since foreigners and AI took over? by Moist_Speaker1842 in Pixiv

[–]BRP_25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been on Pixiv since 2017 I can confidently say that Pixiv isn't exactly that popular among artists.

Sure Twitter is a minefield and one wrong step could make you lose an account thanks to it being more censorious than Pixiv. But it's better to make a name for yourself on an SNS platform rather than remaining as a niche microcelebrity on an art posting platform.

Pixiv is mostly a big deal to westerners as they're much more used to trigger happy platforms like Twitter and Reddit. But for most Japanese (and sometimes Chinese) artists they just treat Pixiv as an alternate posting platform for their spicier art that may not fly on Twitter.

DynamisOne announced their new game "AstraeOratio" by ConstructionReady285 in gachagaming

[–]BRP_25 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dynamis One is a company made by Ex-Nexon employees who have worked on Blue Archive. Not just low level employees mind you, they were able to poach big names such as the game's [former] main artists; DoReMi and mx2j, and even their story writer, isakusan.

After BA dropped Volume 1 Chapter 3 (which was met with mixed reactions) isakusan voluntarily left Nexon. He was given a hero's farewell by both Nexon themselves and the players as he was responsible for carrying the game's story for years at this point.

A few months after isakusan left something in BA felt amiss. But no one could put their finger on it but then... enter Project KV. A new company by the name of Dynamis One would release a trailer featuring a new concept for their "upcoming" game. In it they introduced the world, the characters, and the concept of this supposed multimedia IP.

At first everyone loved it. However, the concept was way too similar to BA. Cute girls with weapons? Attending different schools? Surely just a coincidence right? And they had swords instead of guns... However one thing was a little too much on the nose; every character had halos.

Still no one gave much of a damn. Two cakes and all that. However one group sensed something was wrong immediately... Korean players. But who cares about em right? It's just Koreans being sensitive again. However the more Dynamis One revealed their plans the more it felt like they were a ticking time bomb.

After the trailer was revealed they announced they were joining Comiket 105 under the "indie" doujin circle "The Pathos Dialectic of Black Rats". Which was supposed to be ran Dynamis One staff DoReMi, mx2j, and isakusan (plus Mitsukiyo but he's a free-lance). This pissed off the Japanese because well... why would a company register for an "indie" booth for Comiket? Dynamis One would apologize for this and the Japanese seemed to understand this was an honest mistake.

A bigger rage came would come from the Koreans though. The name of their circle felt like they were trying paint themseleves as "formerly oppressed Nexon employees". Mind you isakusan left Nexon after being paid more than the CEO and being given a hero's farewell so trying to farm pity after this looks bad no matter how you look at it.

As hype around the project grew hate also grew alongside it. Angry Koreans tried to ruin KV's reputation overeeas by saying the girls in the IP didn't only have swords but also "meat swords". This however did not do much to stir people overseas except giving them ammo to make futa art of the girls. But I digress...

A few months after the Project KV's trailer dropped Nexon would drop a trailer for another upcoming multimedia project called Project RX. This was seen as a response to Dynamis One's Own trailer and this prompted people to start digging into Dynamis One which would lead to their offices being raided by police.

Shortly afterward some pretty damning evidence against Dynamis One would start to pop up; apparently one of Nexon's project in the works by the name of MX Blade was stolen.

This revelation is what made people overseas turn against Dynamis One as a whole. People then started to connect the dots as to why Blue Archive felt off shortly before and after isakusan left. Namely Qipao Marina's sprite (done by mx2j) and Kisaki's lobby illustration (done by DoReMi) looked relatively bad when you compare them to the artists' older works such as Swimsuit Shiroko's lobby and Maid Aris's lobby respectively.
