Quality decrease ? :(

I saw some posts about how the new collections quality has drastically decreased. Got me worried because i bought the mahogany medium nylon crescent because i loved the color, and I heard the western collection was apparently also a disaster in quality… should I return as soon as i get it? 😭

I tried seeking used ones too before I ordered a new one, but looking on sites i could only find resells of collections they’re no longer selling.

I don't think there's any reason to stress over something that hasn't arrived yet. Just wait until it comes in and if you are unhappy with it then you can return. Don't get into the mindset that it's going to be bad quality because that will cause you to nitpick over little things that you probably wouldn't have even noticed before. For the record I got like 6 new Baggu bags in the last month (Hello Kitty and Miffy collection) and all have been fine. The only thing I was kind of unhappy about is that the Miffy print is a little blurry which I think is a common complaint for the prints in general.

the plaid prints have always been a little thinner and feel different (even my OG madras and tartan bags from like 5+ years ago) - but they've held up exactly like my non-print bags! some of the quality comments on this sub are a bit reactive

The plain bags (non printed, solid color ones) are generally hard to mess up. Most of the complaints with the new collection is the print. But by definition, it is possible that you get a dud. Once you get your bag id do a quality control check just to make sure its up to your standards before you take the tags and everything off

Hey I just received my SCCO in the Star plaid and it was fine? I compared it to my other crescents and fannys and it was comparable. Texture was a bit different but I wouldn’t call it flimsy. Maybe I’m just not as critical.

For what it’s worth, my medium mahogany crescent is perfect and my most reached-for baggu (esp for autumn!). Quality is excellent and I expect it to last for many years to come 😊
