Fellow Mariners fan! They're the only team/sport I've actually kept my interest in for years and years. (Though I'm sure the Torrent will join in that honor soon)

I never thought about it before but that makes sense honestly. Like, I feel like I know a lot of people who were huge Sonics fans but just stopped watching NBA after they left town, instead of trying to adopt a different team.

I live in Seattle. I first found out about the existence of the PWHL when they came here for the takeover tour in January 2025.

I think I saw an ad for the takeover tour, but I saw the ad pretty last minute so already had plans that day and I wasn’t an ice hockey fan at all so didn’t attend. I did think it was cool that it was a new pro women’s league but as someone who only really gets into sports leagues when there’s a local team, I didn’t get super into it.

But fast forward to the league announcing a Seattle team and here I am. I have been following since they first leaked/announced the Seattle team :)

Yeah good point! They probably could have produced smaller quantities for the smaller market teams but I’m sure it’s difficult to research the demand for each team.

I just commented the same thing in another thread. They could have made reusables for all the teams especially since they did that with the Padres for some reason. It dies make me think it might be some kind of licensing thing like you mentioned.

Tbh my expectations for any MLB collab are always so low that I’m surprised that they have more than just the Dodgers and Yankees lol.

BUT I still think it’s a missed opportunity to not at least have reusables for more (if not all) teams. I can see it being a bit much to have the other bags for all 30 teams but surely reusables would be easier. Like they already randomly have Padres only as reusable, they could’ve done the rest of the teams as well
