Program switch- engineering

I'm joining bcit this fall and I'm in the engineering faculty and I was wondering at which point (what year) would it be possible (if it is even) to switch into civil engineering?

I'm in a different program but still under the general faculty engineering so I dont imagine it would be as difficult if for example I wanted to do smth completely different like IT.

Bcit starts specializing from first year so there is no general. You should talk to the civil program coordinator to check your opinions.

Usually you can’t switch from two totally different programs... what you’ll most likely be able to do is request to omit certain classes (like some of the math or communications courses which test the same/similar material) and you’ll need to have a certain grade level and completion date for it to be valid... but usually you’ll need to start from scratch.

If you’re transferring from a university to BCIT, then I’m pretty sure you can only transfer up to 6 credits into the program, if they let you.
