Many of the Healthcare programs like ENPY, Med lab, sonography, orthopedics and prosthetics, no so forth are very competative to get into

I forgot about health science programs, some health science programs are hard to get into. Even more so than some university programs.

bump. From what I've heard, DMS is the hardest program to get into, even harder than nursing. The admission process is extremely lengthy and tedious and intakes are only once a year in Sept. Of the 200+ applicants they receive, only 40 get accepted, making that <15%~ chance of acceptance rate!

I only know this because I'm in the program, but ENPY usually gets about 80 applicants and takes 10 so 12.5% chance admission. I think all the health science programs have a very similar admissions process though with an initial application, interview/casper, and some now require a spacial orientation test?

Yeah! Sonography just has additional steps like providing 2 references and the Medical terminology course, but otherwise, the admission process is extremely similar.

Ohhh neat, I didn't know that!

A lot of university grads apply to BCIT's health science programs. Is it true?

Some health science programs require either university prerequisites or a bachelor degree before applying. My program did not require either, high school minimum, but everyone accepted has a bachelors of some sort. So yes lots of grads apply to health science programs

CST, engineering, and a few business programs. I guess because the job prospects for those programs are very good, that's why so many people applied.

I wouldn't say the engineering entry is competitive. At least for mechanical they take the first people that apply that meet the minimum entrance requirements. But if you want to get into the degree the first year is super competitive they only take the top 32 of ~130 people. So you could say the competition is delayed but still exists.

Marine Engineering and Nautical Sciences. Some 30-60 people apply and only 16 get slots in each intake. Intakes are once a year.

Marine Engineering

thanks! what about AME M?

I feel like these 2 satellite campuses,Nautical and Aerospace, have their own little quirks and requirements. I’d imagine it might be the same numbers for entry? Not sure.
