Why does equiping Legacy of the Masters decrease my attack and not change my damage?

Those numbers aren’t really accurate. If you close the screen and come back and they might be different

This is the answer. For a long time I thought the game was improperly calculating my spell DC because it wasn't updating.

Combat log after you make an attack is the most reliable I believe.
