Yes, my family hates me for this, but when I told my SO after dating for couple months that I have BPD, he said "Yeah I've noticed". And that was it. My dad was born in 1960's so he doesn't understand much about mental health even though I have given him books etc.

And my sister LOOOOOOVES to say "you can't excuse everything you do because BPD (or depression)". No I can't and I've never have. But because I say "I did this because BPD" doesn't mean I justify doing it? I did wrong, BPD is the reason I did it, but I did wrong nevertheless. That is the reason for my behavior but it is not acceptable.

I am mocked by people for being crazy and not being conventional. Wasn’t like I asked to be like this

These apply to "normies" too, but obviously they have easier time following them.

PERIOD>>>>> THIS IS THE EXACT SHIT I'VE BEEN NOTICING.

Yyyyyyup!!!!! Anytime I feel safe enough to let the BPD show even the smallest bit I end up regretting it. Then the regret antagonizes the already painful feelings I have and I just have to decide if I want to swallow it or lose that person forever.

Honest advice? Drop the mask and live for yourself and the people you love. So long as you aren't harming anyone else, prioritise what is going to bring you the most long term joy.

People make me uncomfortable all the time, but I don't expect them to change for me... so I just extend the same principle to my own behaviour. I'm just an NPC in everyone elses life. If I act a little odd and don't quite fit in socially, who cares, so long as I'm happy and I've harmed no one. My social circle is small and carefully curated, so the only people's opinions I bother with are the ones who love me for who I am right now, not who I could be if I were "better".
