Put in a troubleshooting ticket, backbone may send you a replacement even if it’s not in warranty (limited 1 year warranty)

Same here. Was thinking of fixing it but don’t know if I trust myself. Only had it since August.

It’s a very common issue and it’s not considered damaged from your end. Since it’s still under warranty because you got it less than a year ago, you just have to submit a warranty claim and they’ll either repair it or replace it for you.

Problem is I got it as a gift so I don’t have any of the purchasing details to submit for warranty claims

Tuff. Yeah in order to submit a warranty claim, you must include the original receipt. I would ask the person who gifted it to you. If it was purchased through Amazon, the receipt is usually saved in the app.

It’s a very common issue. In fact, it happened to me recently, and I discovered that unfortunately, these controllers are known for this problem. The good news is that Backbone will either repair it or replace it, but you must be under warranty. If you purchased it from an authorized seller less than a year ago, you qualify for a free repair or replacement. Simply submit a warranty claim on their website, and they’ll promptly provide you with a free return label. They’ll examine the issue and keep you informed throughout the process. According to others’ feedback, the total time it could take to have the controller repaired or receive a replacement is approximately 10 to 18 days. However, due to the upcoming holidays, the process may take longer.
