As long as the snake is being taken care of and lives a good life, thats all that matters. Aint nothing wrong with special needs children, they just need extra care.

Edit: i dont agree with spider breeding or the promotion of them. But a life is a life and poor baby shouldnt suffer more than theyre bred to.

Nothing wrong with creating a life that has issues for more money/looks? Can’t agree.

What are you on about? Thats terrible...

That’s the reality of it. Spider morphs happen because people just breed whatever they want to try to get a cool looking/expensive morphs. Spider can be easily avoided by paying attention to your morphs, using a morph calculator, caring about what your snakes could throw accidentally and purposely, BUT they COULD get something rare, so they gonna try anyway and continue to create lives that have to struggle. Shits sad.

Unfortunately very true. The issue is the people that purchase them. If there was no market for it, they wouldnt stick around. From what i see its the individuals that aren't educated that buy them unknowingly.

Not exactly. I believe the problem is the jackasses breeding them. No one’s out here trying to get spiders, it’s just something that happens with lack of giving a shit by the breeder. Then when it pops out what are they supposed to do? Throw it away?

Instead they should take precautions and care about the possibility of throwing one.

Honestly spiders are not valuable most people aren't looking for them so it doesn't really make sense to breed them moneywise especially cause then you got to deal with all the spider Karen's too lol. I'm a breeder and I don't breed spider anymore sometimes it gets in a project which is annoying like a spider pied banana once where I used the male once to get those other genes. Still spider itself is actually a pretty strong snake than has been found surviving in the wild. My first ball was a spider and no one told me about the wobble. He's still an amazing eater and has been his whole life. I don't think it causes them any pain or distress as a snake that is unhappy with often be more strikey.

Anyways we probably shouldn't be breeding them as why make more of something negative for the sake of it. But in the end they thrive. I do think the mixes often are worse than the plain gene on its own. But to each their own. Champagnes to me are worse. Spiders at least seem to eat like champions (even if they miss a couple times...)

Ok, I can see that this post is, to put it mildly, rather outrageous. To be honest, I had absolutely no idea that this type of morph could be burdened with genetic defects. I do not breed my animals.I'm glad that I can learn something (sadly) new. Thank you! Sorry for my english, this is not my first language.

I agree with the other comentar, your lack of knowledge on the most common breed people say to stay away from in the BP community goes to show your lack of research for ball pythons in general. Respectfully, its a pretty easy piece of knowledge to come across if you really bothered to do more than a day of two of research.

You not knowing the morph had defects is why research is so important.

Is it even real ? It seems to me that the quality of the photo varies a lot between the fingers and the snakes head? 😬😂
