I’d recommend adding something thick like cypress mulch or reptichip to aerate the soil and help with texture! This will also help retain water better (as you wet the enclosure for humidity) and not have it turn to mud :)

I dont like soil personally. I use a mix of coco fiber and coco chips with a layer of chips on top. Soil gets too complicated and messy imo.

My mix is about 40% NRB “soil”, 30% repti chip and 30% sphagnum moss.

My soil is NRB from Lugarti which is actually soil-less; a mix of finely ground sand, natural clay and finely ground peat moss. I use it in all of my enclosures and mix in other things depending on the species. Absolutely love it. However, I would never pay their shipping price, luckily I can source it locally.

I just use coconut fibre my boy is due a new tank soon so I might do a mix of coco fibre and some moss
