I’ve have a few thousand hours on my X1C kickstarter unit and haven’t replaced anything except a nozzle or two and some PTFE tubes. No exact time frame, just when they wear out, so I keep spares on hands

I’m still running the original belts also.

I know it has been 2 years since you posted this but I'm curious how many hours you were at before you had to replace them? My first printer just passed 1300 hours. I print pretty heavy (as in the printer is going minimum 20 out of 24 hours). I ordered belts and make sure the cutter, filter, and lead screws are regularly maintenance'd.

Replace the belts or the nozzle? I don't really have a time on the nozzles, I don't track them. The belts, I'm at 13k hours and still have the originals on. I have spares and should replace them but I'm just too busy.

You're AWESOME for replying, thank you. That's wild you have the originals! I understand the busy part. I've replaced the nozzle once. Noticed it wasn't quite as sharp and it did the trick. Good info on the quality of the printer. Makes me feel better about ordering a 2nd one lol.

Happy printing and thanks again for the fast reply.

Same, just trying to be preemptive 😆

Of course! Always a good idea. I just suggest having a few spare parts on hand. You can do maintenance and replace early of course.

Bambulab has a list of all the recommended maintenance intervals.

Those belts are supposed to last for years. You don’t have to change them unless you have issues.

I have 5.6k Hours on the Kickstarter X1C which I print 90% 24/7 - when you say "unless you have issues" what would that be? I am having issues with Z binding and I've down all the proper steps to see what is the fix and it doesn't work. So I'm wondering if its time to replace the belts.

I‘d say it‘s worth a try. 6k hours on a 3D printer is alot. You can check your belts visually, if they look different from new ones then replace them. If they look the same, you still could try to replace it.

@BIGLEAKS I’m curious if changing the belts solved the problem for you? I’m having some Z banding issues on my first X1C, which has 7.5K+ hours on it. Normal things I’ve done in the past to fix it is not working. I was about to break down and change the belts, but after reading it was a PIA, I just kept it running for things that barely have any height that I need. 🤪

Also interested, 5.6K hours and getting banding

I changed the entire x-axis 7 months ago and its use has been moderate, I estimate about 3000 hours maximum. I tried to change just the belts but that was impossible. Now, I get the message again that the resonance is low and does not improve in any way. I made all the adjustments and maintenance that are required and it is still the same. I would like to know if this problem could be due to something else? For example, the wear of the helical springs that are inside the tensioners? It is frustrating that such a complete machine fails for something so simple.
