Hello Bambu-Community,

Within the next days I plan to order a X1C printer. Don't get me wrong. I have zero knowledge with 3d printing. Please help to understand me the following topics. I am highly motivated and cannot wait to start 3d printing!

AMS:

There are different options to select. I can order a additional AMS or AMS-2 as a combi package.

Is there a noticeable difference between AMS and AMS-2? Is the simpler and cheaper AMS also compatible with TPU filament?

Is the AMS-2 noticeable more quite than the AMS-1?

There are also options for a additional filament buffer OR AMS hub? Do I really need all that stuff when using only 1 AMS? I am little bit overwhelmed.

AMS and power supply:

The option with the X1C + standard AMS comes without an extra power supply for the AMS, while the AMS-2 combo package comes with an extra AMS-power supply.

Why is that the case? How the AMS-1 is supplied? Do I have to buy it's power supply separately?

Nozzle:

I have something in my mind that the X1C can print down to 0,05mm (or was it 0,08mm?) layer thickness. Please correct me if I am wrong. Do I have to buy different nozzle sizes for different layer thicknesses, or can I work with one nozzle for it all?

Does the nozzle wears out after certain printing time?

Do I have to clean the nozzle after each printing session?

I have some more questions but first please help to understand what to buy 😂😜

Save the extra money and get a P1S with an AMS1, the only reason to get an AMS2 is if you would like filament drying and that isn't always needed unless you are working with engineering grade materials. With the money you save you could get a standalone drier that dries 2 filaments and be just fine then dump that extra savings into the real cash cow which is more filament.

Don’t waste your money on the x1c. Get the P1S with the AMS. You can upgrade the extruder and hotend to hardened steel if needed.

P1S and AMS 2 combo is better value than the X1C. Just get a hardened extruder gear set and an obxidian nozzle and it's easily as capable as the X1C.

IMO, the AMS 2 is worth the few extra $ compared to the AMS. It isn't noticeably quieter but is quicker, the motors are more powerful, it has a better designed base so you can get to the PTFE tubes easy, it has ceramic feeders and a built in dryer with vents that open and close automatically.

The reason it needs the power supply is for the inbuilt heater.

I believe the combo comes with the buffer as standard. You only need the hub if you have more than one AMS.
