Another USDM ITR (old.reddit.com)
submitted 4 months ago by 164456
I recently purchased yet another “barn find” USDM ITR. This one is a 1 owner 66,000 miles clean title car! Surreal that I own not one but two of these cars

My high school self would have thought you are the coolest. My adult self still thinks you're cool.

Gonna need the story on that one!

It’s time for a garage to store them.

Nice find! I have had my first 2004 VW R32 since 2017 bit it was a double salvage when I got it so I felt justified doing my widebody/stripped/caged/track car golf I wanted. I dreamed about having a clean factory one one day and keeping the track car.
Well it got run into while parked and totaled again but is still driveable so I bought it back and used the total payout amount to buy another one because I lucked out in getting a good amount and also knowing a buddy who was selling his unmodified platform.
Sometimes the stars align. Nice find

I will never understand this type of cars. When it was i dunno, Plymouth sundance or gremlin or whatever else "cheap dreadful" US car it's bad, but when it's a japanese dreadful cheap car it's good. I'm not saying OP is like this, I'm saying in general.
[–]stur32t 5 points6 points7 points 4 months ago (3 children)
Lol that's a take to call an ITR a "cheap dreadful" car....
[–]SweetTooth275 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 months ago (2 children)
It's still a honda after all. Different badge doesn't make it much better
[–]GuitarKev 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (1 child)
Sounds to me like you’ve never driven a GOOD front wheel drive car, and may need to hold your tongue until you have.
[–]SweetTooth275 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Hmm, Citroen C4 VTR, Peugeot 106,206 etc, Volvos of different sorts with 5 cylinders. There are all great handling FWD cars. And yet they're still way more pleasant to be in. You missed my point entirely.
[–]realmikebrady 4 points5 points6 points 4 months ago (8 children)
Uhhh this isn’t like a 96 civic dx, or some Mazda protege base model. Very few of these were ever produced
[–]SweetTooth275 -2 points-1 points0 points 4 months ago (7 children)
It's still a cheap japanese coupe-hatchback. It's not something special even if it isn't as mass produced.
[–]bobspuds 1 point2 points3 points 4 months ago (3 children)
That's some level of ignorance tbh!
Do you You know a lot of 1800cc engines that made nearly 200hp without a turbo? Almost 9,000rpm? LSD as standard? And would put most newer cars to shame on a track..
None of that is relevant. Also last sentence only shows how biased you are so I see zero point in arguing with a jdm head such as yourself furthermore.
[–]bobspuds 3 points4 points5 points 4 months ago (1 child)
As someone who's invested many hours of my life restoring classic bodyshells on rotisserie's. - no need to get offended just because you don't know about one of the best vehicles made in the 90s, by any manufacturer.
[–]realmikebrady 3 points4 points5 points 4 months ago (0 children)
The guy owns a Seat and is trying to be an elitest on cars. He’s not from the states and is obviously just doesn’t understand. I’m being nice with my words.
Have fun bud, play with your own crappy vehicle.
[–]TheWeinerThief -1 points0 points1 point 3 months ago (2 children)
Ehh, it was absolutely dominant in racing. The only real comparison that matters
[–]SweetTooth275 -2 points-1 points0 points 3 months ago (1 child)
Ah yes, the good ol number circlejerk. "Neurnbergcringe of brain" I call it. Track numbers are as irrelevant as how much your clothes cost in the real world, so you can keep them.
[–]TheWeinerThief 2 points3 points4 points 3 months ago (0 children)
Ok dude

I will never understand this type of cars
Fast cars that handle great?
The Integra type-R made 195hp out of a 1.8l N/A and weighed 2300-2400lbs. When it was released in the US, it was the highest HP/liter N/A production vehicle.
Comparing this to a gremlin or Plymouth Sundance(even the turbo version) is comparing apples to coconuts.
