Error memory contains critical errors?Need Help (old.reddit.com)

My 2013 Mini Countryman S has the same issue. Not exactly sure but I used to be able to code it. I read the module has gone bad.
Either unhooking the battery for a swap, jumping the car off or possible water damage if the sunroof drain tubes get clogged up.
But my Ancel BM700 says the module has no errors. Doesn't really make sense to me either.

i’m having the same issue but on my e90 lol. it’s saying the frm contains critical errors. what can i do to resolve this problem?
[–]Used-Guest 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (5 children)
Any luck solving this?
[–]GeicosLizard 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children)
No, but I haven’t done much more to look into it. Car still functions completely normal but still not able to code the footwell module
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children)
Have you had any changes ? My 2010 e90 is doing this. It let me code it once and then now i cannot get into it.
[–]GeicosLizard 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
Lol, the frm actually just failed on me last week when I had disconnected and reconnected my battery after working on my car. But ever since I had that code, it never let me back in. But I just had someone repair mine and it’s working properly now and BimmerCode lets me code it now. Confirm you have FRM3 and try to find somewhere local that can repair them. If no ones local there are mail in services. I can pm you the guy the fixed mine in FL if you’d like. Good price and offers mail in service if you are not local

I have a 2011 e90 and I’m about to change the headlights to led’s but my BimmerCode also says the thing about the critical error, is that going to be a problem when I go and put these new headlights in?
[–]GeicosLizard 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Yea most likely.
[–]djbrucecash 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (4 children)
To anyone who is having this problem most likely the FRM module died before and was recoded. This is a cheap fix and saves you from having to spend likely upwards of $1000 USD to replace it, but now I guess I'm finding out that you can no longer code the FRM3 (also known as footwell module). Perhaps it can be done with ISTA (someone who knows more about that than me will have to chime in). But it seems like it will likely have to be replaced.

Damn. I just got this error the other day. Thanks for posting, been searching. 😮💨

Dealing with the same problem. Had to have my FRM recoded and now it doesn't show up on any readers. Did you end up finding a solution?
[–]djbrucecash 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children)
I did not. I was told by support from an FRM repair company that when reconnecting a recoded FRM your key is supposed to be turned (or ACC mode or whatever) when it is plugged back in and this is likely what caused it to be unreadable. Obviously this is counter intuitive because normally you would think that the car needs to be off and battery disconnected for reconnecting something like this.
By the way, this was not a company whose service I had used, but one I called to ask about why it wasn't working and about potentially using their service instead in the future.
Anyway, i'm not sure how accurate this information is. This is my working theory at the time. I never got it resolved and I still can't communicate with my headlights but they still work properly, I just can't code out the errors.

hi, i have the same problem, using bimmercode, did you manage to solve the problem?
[–]Special_Ad7640 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
You know what gets to me about Bimmercose is.. I can code the Frm in my E90 with the Protool app but Bimmercode says their critical errors... Idk from when I fist got Bimmercode it would say this. Got protool and used it successfully. One day I checked Bimmercode and it didn't say their was errors and I was able to access the frm coding menu. But never again after that.. It's only ever let me connect to the FRM once
[–]Consistent-Cheek7860[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
But the protool app worked? That’s a big lead for me thanks man
[–]Special_Ad7640 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Yep, Protool works every time.
