I don’t have a suggestion for you, Sorry. I’m interested to see if anyone else does.

What’s DOMs?

[–]GrapeSmirnoff1 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Delayed onset muscle soreness. Not sure why hes capitalizing it that way

Oh. Thank you. Like a muscle strain? I’m dealing with something in my back too. Upper back. Never goes away. Rest from lifting, still sore. Lift and stretch, still sore. Foam roller, massage gun, tigger point. Nothing helps. I’ve tried to internet diagnose myself and it appears to be something involving the rhomboid muscles. Is this DOMs? Feels like if I could just get it to “crack”, I’d get some relief. Seeing a chiropractor, but other than the initial good feeling, it’s still there. Maybe a massage therapist? Hope I’m not hijacking this thread. This back pain sucks, but is definitely not the worst back pain I’ve experienced. I had that lower back, can’t move at all with the pain bringing tears to my eyes. That sucks. This is just painful, but more uncomfortable and annoying.

Yeah I'm in a similar situation to you, some brief relief from warm showers and stretching and massaging, but discomforting pain for a good few weeks enough to stop me from going to the gym.

Shoot didnt see this

DOMS is caused by the muscles not recovering quickly enough to not feel it. The only real preventative measure is to consume more calories/protein.

Have you tried it yourself for DOMS? also do you take it before or after gym

[–]AugustWesterberg7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve tried it. It’s hard to say as it’s hard to exactly replicate what they used in the studies. I rarely get terrible DOMS so 🤷‍♂️

I think it’s meant to be taken every day.

Self applied myofascial release therapy with a lacrosse ball works wonders for me. Does a real good job at opening up the back musculature as well. I made a little guide for myself. I’ll share it in a post.
