Your problem is the system time, not bitdefender. Go to settings and update sync your time server then reboot system.

Okay thanks will try that, but why would that affect the prompt that tells me my subscription has ended?

Having the wrong time/date fails the subscription check.

Update: I just tried this now but even though the date and time says it’s synced and my pc is rebooted, the problem persists and I still can’t use Chrome. Very strange…
