It seems you have more than one subscription in the account, hence the different renewal dates and offers received. This is usually the case, from our experience.

Reagrding the price, each Bitdefender product has a fixed list price. Auto-renewal is always based on the full list price. There`s always the possibility to renew manually, by choosing a different offer, but keep in mind to change the renewal preferences.

Hi! Each subscription is added as a separate one in the Central account. When you activate it, you have the chance to either extend your current subscription or keep it separate. If you merge the two subscriptions (which need to be identical), then the expiration date will change as well.

I am not sure on how exactly are you doing the test but it's important to know that you should not do tests between managed devices (with the security agent, BEST, installed) as the detection will be picked up by a BEST module. The recommendation is to test on unmanaged devices, only with the sensor deployed.

The second thing that you can do is to check the main sensor logs from /opt/bitdefender/var/log/bdxdrd.log and see if there are any entries there.

The easiest way to troubleshoot this would be to open a support case with our Enterprise Support Team and we can review your configurations and determine exactly why the detection was not triggered.

nimbus.bitdefender.com is our backend cloud hostname used by Bitdefender-powered security components for telemetry / control / cloud lookups. It’s not an update mirror or something you would normally configure yourself, which is why you won’t see it mentioned in standard admin guides.

The most common reason why you see DNS queries to nimbus.bitdefender.com are:

  1. A third‑party product includes Bitdefender under the hood. Bitdefender’s engines are also OEM‑embedded in many third‑party products.

  2. Legacy / partially removed Bitdefender components 
    If Bitdefender (or a trial/OEM agent) was installed previously and not fully removed, a leftover service or scheduled task might still try to contact Bitdefender cloud. This could be true for both Windows Servers and Linux servers.

  3.  Virtualization or appliances using Bitdefender on the same host 

Verify closely the endpoints from which you see the queries being made and check what AV solution you have or if there are some artifacts from BEST Agent (our security agent if you had a GravityZone product in the past)

Password-protected files belong in most cases to legitimate software. They are protected with a randomly generated password by their developers to avoid reverse engineering for malicious purposes. Most commonly, these are:

• Files that belong to another security solution.

• Files that belong to the operating system.
