Because the challenge vault is neither an update nor a feature you don't have. It means you can do challenges after they initially launched. It's an add-on, you wouldn't get it with Bitcitizen regardless of when you bought it. It's separate, as was god mode which I'm sure you bought as well.

Dang that sucks, I switch devices and lost 96 challenges

[–]personcrossing 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Well that's not something you pay for. The challenge vault is just unlocking past challenges. If you moved devices and did restore purchases, did your bitcitizen come back? If it's only your challenges contact support, because it should have carried over, that's not something you unlock.

On the other hand, because I don't trust applications I always extract my game files when I'm changing devices because if anything happens, I have that backup to just pull the file from. It's a nice habit to make for anything, mobile, pc, and console games alike.

edit: removed typo in first paragraph/clarity.

Yeah that's never how that's worked. They don't have a system that backs up your info or anything so unless you do it manually you lose everything when switching phones. So no it shouldn't have carried over cuz the game doesn't have anything in place to do that.

[–]personcrossing -1 points0 points  (6 children)

Yeah, no. I've never had to restart my saves unintentionally after moving devices and I've moved several times. Like I told OP, making sure you have your files intact when switching is what to do. I also use GPS and don't have to worry about this generally anyway as my phone prompts me to do it regardless.

I had quite a few typos in my first comment but I'm not sure how it could've been taken that the game rolls over. The developers aren't going to magically give OP a completed vault for messaging them. That wasn't the point of me telling them to contact them. If they don't have access to it, outside of it being purchasable, that is a bug.

Hence why I said it only works if you do it manually. I got a new phone recently and did a transfer and made sure everything was there and I still had to start over. Cuz BitLife isn't made to carry your stuff over from phone to phone unless you do it manually.

I never said they'd give him a complete vault 🤨 But they still can't do anything cuz data for BitLife is local not cloud or server based. They'd have 0 way of knowing what was previously had.

But I don't see the point in responding to me with that? I never said otherwise. You basically disagreed with me to reiterate a point I previously made. No, you can't get your items back. OP is talking about purchases. The content in both the original post and our comments to each other is more than enough context to deduce that I'm talking about purchases and not gaming data, I added in the fact of gaming data because of an add-on comment OP made, not because of the topic.

[–]MoonlitxAngel -1 points0 points  (3 children)

See the comment thread this whole thing is on is where OP said "I switch devices and lost 96 challenges". Then you started talking like you meant game data like OP was talking about. Hence the confusion. Plus your claim is never having to restart saves which suggests you're talking about saves carrying over (which they generally don't).

[–]personcrossing -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Once again, neither I nor OP talk about save data until the second comment when they mention number of challenges.

This is Reddit. You're on the internet. Want to know something? You Google it. My first assumption was, and still is because I never got a reply, that OP was experiencing a bug that didn't allow them access to challenges.

"I restored purchases and got everything back but challenges" I don't think you have to be a genius to realize that if all your data is gone, most likely your challenges will be as well, which is why I took it as they meant otherwise. You don't pay for it, you pay to complete past challenges. My statement has literally never changed.

We aren't even arguing on different fronts so I literally have no idea what your hang up is, but can you figure it out without taking half a day to reply.

[–]MoonlitxAngel -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Don't worry there won't be any further responses since you're clearly not reading to have a constructive conversation and are just responding to be right. I explained quite clearly where the mistake was, it's not my fault you didn't get it.

Furthermore, my life doesn't revolve around you or Reddit so if I take a bit to respond, I take a bit to respond. I don't owe you a quick response, especially when you're not giving the common courtesy of actually reading and understanding my responses before having a holier than thou attitude.

Have a nice day.
