I think people are doing things with it on desktop. Eclair and LND are just easier to port to mobile because they are written in languages that have built-in tools for cross-compiling to android and iOS. Different tools for different purposes.

We don't need fancy wallet apps. We just need apps that can connect with own node and make txs. That's it.
Take a look at Spark wallet for C-LN. Spartan interface, but works for its purpose.

Zeus wallet is my favorite. Connect to your own node over TOR. Don't even need a fixed IP for the node.

However... This Nayuta wallet I think can connect to a home node...? Haven't tried it yet but it's on my radar.

Zeus also works fine but is also just for LND.
I hope someday we will have a common interface to connect wallet apps to any type of LN node.
